Anthony Repaci Stands Alone, Despite Worcester Railers' Tough Weekend

The Worcester Railers faced a tough weekend, dropping two of three games. They endured an 8-1 blowout against the South Carolina Stingrays and split a pair of contests with the Trois-Rivières Lions, winning 5-4 in overtime before losing 4-3. This stretch leaves the New York Islanders' ECHL Affiliate with a 6-7 record.

However, Nov. 16 marked a historic moment for team captain Anthony Repaci. His late, game-tying goal against the Lions earned him his 151st career point, making him the franchise's all-time leading scorer. In his fourth season with Worcester, Repaci surpassed Barry Almeida and solidified his place as a cornerstone for the young franchise.

Established in 2016, the Railers’ record books are still taking shape, but Repaci’s name is already at the forefront. He leads the team in goals and points and is just 13 assists shy of Almeida’s franchise mark. Following a slower '23-24 campaign, Repaci has rebounded with 16 points in 13 games this season. At this pace, he’s on track for a career-best 88 points and to shatter the franchise assist record.

Beyond his on-ice contributions, Repaci’s leadership extends into the community. Voted the “fan favorite” three years in a row, he played a significant role in helping the Railers earn their fifth ECHL Community Service Team of the Year award.

Anthony Repaci's historic achievement stands as a bright spot during an otherwise challenging weekend for the Worcester Railers. His leadership on and off the ice continues to define the franchise's identity as they navigate the ups and downs of the season. As the Railers prepare to face the Maine Mariners, Repaci's record-setting performance offers a reminder of the talent and determination that can guide the team to better results moving forward.

The Railers look to bounce back on Nov. 20 when they visit the Maine Mariners at Cross Insurance Arena. The puck drops at 7 p.m. All ECHL games can be streamed on flohockey.tv
